We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team and provide exceptional patient care. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the high quality medical care for animals. You will be responsible for a wide variety of duties including assisting veterinarians in medical procedures, diagnostics, laboratory, nursing care, and educating clients. Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians during exams, surgical procedures, and other treatments.
- Conduct laboratory work and run diagnostic tests as needed.
- Administer prescribed medications and carry out treatment plans.
- Deliver attentive nursing care for pets staying in the hospital.
- Observe and record patient vital signs and changes in condition.
- Communicate with clients about their pets’ health and preventive care.
- Document medical information accurately in patient files.
- Keep the clinic environment clean, sanitary, and well-organized.
- Track, restock, and manage medical supplies and equipment.
- Perform additional tasks and provide assistance as directed.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a veterinary clinic setting.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Experience with electronic patient records system
- Experience with preventative care.
- Strong knowledge of vaccine and care schedules
- Familiarity with animal husbandry practices and kennel management.
- Ability to effectively handle and restrain animals safely.

• Administer SQ, IM, and IV injections, including medications and vaccines.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including surgical site clipping, scrubbing, and maintaining sterile technique.
• Take and process digital radiographs (including dental/ultrasound if applicable).
• Handle and care for exotic species (e.g., reptiles, birds, small mammals).
• Operate and maintain in-house diagnostic equipment, including Zoetis and IDEXX machines.
• Communicate clearly with clients regarding treatment plans, medication instructions, and discharge procedures.
• Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date patient medical records.
• Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of exam rooms, surgical suites, and treatment areas.
Qualifications:
• Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT) preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of clinical experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with technical skills such as intubation, catheter placement, and in-house diagnostics.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure.
• A passion for animal health and patient care.

Practice Manager Position

I’m looking for someone who knows what good veterinary practice looks like from both sides. You’ve worked on the floor. You understand the numbers. You’ve probably spent years looking at things in a practice and thinking, “I’d do that differently.”
Here’s your chance.
Dr. Kathy’s Veterinary Care, Inc is a one doctor practice in Largo, Florida. The goal is to grow it into a three-doctor practice doing around $3M a year. If you want a finished system to follow, this probably isn’t the role for you.
Here, you’d help build it.
Why this role exists
We’ve got something good now, and I don’t want growth to wreck it. Clients aren’t rushed out the door. We know their pets, their history and how they like to be handled. Your job is to help us keep that feeling while building the systems, team and client growth that take us from one doctor to three.
As the practice grows, your role grows with it.
The long-term goal is for you to oversee the day-to-day operation of the practice while I stay focused on the clinical side and where we’re heading next.
What that looks like in real life
In the quiet hours between appointments, you’ll be building. That might mean putting together a tested plan to increase new clients per month by 50%. It might mean reviewing our fees, fixing a broken process, training someone properly or working out what must happen before the next doctor comes on. Then you put it in place, measure what happened and move on to the next problem.
The kind of person who will thrive here
You back yourself, but you don’t need to pretend you know everything. You’ve held a nervous dog for a blood draw and sat down with the month’s numbers. You’re probably a CVT, or you’ve built strong experience working your way up through veterinary practice. You don’t wait around for someone else to solve obvious problems. You think, test, build and improve.
What growth can look like here
In my last practice, one of the most important people in the business started as a kennel hand. Over time, he learned the operation, took on more responsibility and became my right hand in the practice. That’s how I think about this role too.
I’m not looking for someone to stay inside a narrow job description. If you can build, lead and improve the business, there’s room for this role to become much bigger.
The reality of the role
No after hours and no weekends. Early on, you’ll answer phones and help the doctor as often as you work on the bigger plan. If answering the phone or cleaning a cage feels beneath you, this won’t work. And if you’re looking to walk in on top dollar before you’ve shown what you can build, this probably isn’t the role for you either.
The opportunity is to prove what you can do, grow the practice, and have your responsibility and financial upside grow with the results.
Money
Starting salary: $50,000 We’ll review it every six months against the results you’re helping create, not just how long you’ve been here. Once practice profit reaches $100,000 annually, profit share kicks in at an agreed level. If you help build a bigger, stronger practice, your financial upside should grow with it.
